Job Title: Environmental Compliance Analyst

The Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality is looking for a dedicated professional to fill the role of Environmental Compliance Analyst. The successful candidate will be tasked with evaluating VPDES permit submissions and associated operational-design documents to ensure adherence to the Clean Water Act and Virginia State Water Regulations. This role involves the precise development and drafting of enforceable permits within specified timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze water quality data and wastewater management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with both state and federal environmental statutes.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Interpret and apply intricate policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Review and critique applications and engineering evaluations.
  • Utilize computer systems and database management software proficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

A background in environmental science, engineering, or resource management is advantageous.
