Your Role:

Analyze the daily and seasonal variations in canopy architecture within solar agriculture systems
Generate three-dimensional data on plant canopies utilizing both commercial and innovative plant phenotyping techniques, and devise methods to extract quantitative plant characteristics from 3-D point cloud data
Investigate the impacts of dynamically modified light and rainfall patterns on key traits of significant agricultural and horticultural species
Provide insights to the research team on optimizing the synergy between energy production from solar installations and plant growth beneath
Compile findings and prepare reports for the funding organization
Leverage project outcomes for scholarly articles and present findings to the academic community
Mentor students and oversee student-led projects

Your Qualifications:

Advanced Degree (Master's and PhD) in plant sciences, botany, plant physiology, agronomy, or related fields
Strong foundation in whole plant eco-physiology, plant development, and/or plant morphology
Proficient in techniques for assessing plant structure in both greenhouse and field settings
Familiarity with utilizing and interpreting 3D data from advanced plant imaging tools is highly advantageous
Enthusiasm for engaging at the intersection of applied and fundamental research
Documented history of publications in relevant areas and the capability to synthesize scientific findings in project documentation and academic journals
Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
