Your Role:
We are seeking candidates for a 1-year Postdoctoral Researcher role, with potential for extension based on performance, within a prominent EU-supported initiative focused on enhancing the integration and digital evolution in the sustainable energy domain. This project aims to leverage cutting-edge advancements in cloud technologies, data science, machine learning, and engineering management to improve the synergy and efficiency of sustainable energy solutions, encompassing hydrogen and battery technologies as well as other renewable sources. The objective of the project is to promote open scientific practices, guarantee data integrity and analytical tool sophistication, and boost the performance of sustainable energy systems through digital integration.
Your Responsibilities:
Implement FAIR data principles to improve data governance and accessibility throughout the project, establishing a solid framework for data sharing and utilization.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to embed digital components into a holistic validation framework, ensuring adherence to best practices in data validation and tool sophistication.
Design and implement enterprise-level software solutions for monitoring and enhancing sustainable energy technologies, utilizing expertise in engineering, data science, and machine learning.
Develop and integrate metadata and ontologies, creating a pioneering recommendation model for a metadata exchange, improving data interoperability across various platforms.
Your Qualifications:
Advanced degrees (Masters and PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline with a focus on sustainable energy systems, data science, or machine learning.Proven experience in programming, especially in Python, Django, or similar frameworks, with a strong grasp of data extraction and machine learning methodologies.
High-level programming capabilities and significant experience in software development related to digital services.
Outstanding collaborative and communication abilities, fluent in English, and adept at effective teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.
Additional knowledge or interest in cloud computing solutions (private/on-premise/public) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies will be regarded as advantageous.

Salary and social benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group 13, depending on the applicant's qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to them.
