Country Manager for Food Ingredients in Germany

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Country Manager for our Food Ingredients Distribution operations in Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of 15 professionals, including Technical Sales Managers, Customer Service Representatives, and Accountants.
  • Act as both Country Manager and Technical Sales Manager for a designated product category.
  • Manage a portfolio of value-added products sourced from reputable suppliers.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, combining office-based and remote work.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in team leadership.
  • Master's Degree in Food Technology is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for food product innovation.
  • In-depth knowledge of value-added food ingredients.
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential.
  • Submission of a CV and Cover Letter is mandatory.
Key Duties:
  • Formulate and implement commercial and product strategies for specified ingredients.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities within our supplier product range.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers and clients.
  • Engage with customers to assess their needs and develop tailored value propositions.
  • Participate in production trials and execute small-scale trials in the application kitchen.
  • Oversee project management in collaboration with a dedicated Customer Service Manager.
  • Align sales strategies for supplier product groups under the guidance of Product Managers and Country Managers.
  • Develop market strategies, manage purchasing, and oversee sales for assigned product groups in Germany.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Conduct customer visits to analyze needs and create compelling value propositions.
  • Participate in production trials and small-scale trials in the application kitchen.
  • Manage projects in close collaboration with the Customer Service Manager.
  • Coordinate sales strategies for supplier product groups with the support of Category Managers and Country Managers.
  • Benefit from ongoing training opportunities, both internally and internationally.
  • Identify and understand customer needs to develop customized solutions.
  • Conduct laboratory, small-scale, or industrial trials with clients.
  • Follow up on offers and payments.
  • Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts.
Desired Skills:
  • A degree in Food Technology is a must.
  • Ability to address technological challenges and a passion for food product development.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and positive mindset.
  • Fluency in German and English (both spoken and written) is essential.
  • A valid driving license is required.
