ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Accounting Manager for our EMEA operations spanning seven countries. In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in steering the financial and accounting functions, ensuring a seamless close process, enhancing systems and procedures, and maintaining robust policies and controls. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a solid foundation in operational and technical accounting, and a proactive mindset aimed at achieving results. This role promises both challenges and rewards, offering significant exposure to leadership and a prominent role in decision-making. You will collaborate with our international accounting teams to optimize processes through a lean approach and the effective use of technology, ready to address unforeseen projects that arise.Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the financial statement closing process (monthly, quarterly, and annually) to ensure accuracy and timeliness in compliance with US GAAP, including the review of journal entries and account reconciliations. Conduct quarterly assessments of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the EMEA region. Work closely with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and accounting teams to manage accruals, taxes, inter-company transactions, and other significant expense categories. Supervise the preparation of annual financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management discussions for each EMEA entity. Collaborate with international teams to standardize and enhance the International Accounting process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local reporting requirements, and SOX initiatives. Identify opportunities for improvement in policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial reports. Collaborate with others to optimize and automate accounting processes, facilitating an efficient and streamlined closing process. Engage with outsourced partners on ERP system design, implementation, and enhancement projects as needed, particularly concerning new processes and accounting policies. Qualifications Over 10 years of relevant accounting experience. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, general ledger structures, and financial statements. A deep understanding of consolidation reporting and foreign currency translation and remeasurement. Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, manage multiple responsibilities, and work independently to achieve objectives. Modern thinking regarding processes and tools, particularly in implementing, integrating, and enhancing accounting and financial technologies. Advanced Excel and data management skills are essential. Energetic, hands-on, and resourceful self-starter capable of collaborating with all levels and functions within the organization. Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines; results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency. Experience in managing and developing a diverse accounting team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to effectively connect and collaborate with a diverse range of peers and stakeholders; constructive and solution-focused mindset. Proficiency in both German and English is required. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Experience with Oracle R12 is preferred.
