ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Accounting Manager for our EMEA operations across multiple countries. This position is pivotal in steering the financial and accounting functions, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, while enhancing systems and workflows to ensure robust policies and controls are in place. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid foundation in operational and technical accounting, and a proactive approach to achieving results. This role offers significant exposure to leadership and provides a strategic position within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the financial statement closing process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and timely reporting.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the EMEA region.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other key financial areas to ensure accurate accounting practices.
  • Supervise the preparation of annual financial statements and accompanying disclosures for our EMEA entities.
  • Work cross-functionally to standardize and enhance international accounting processes, aligning with both US GAAP and local reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements in policies and procedures to enhance the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Engage with outsourced partners on ERP system design and implementation projects, particularly regarding new accounting processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of consolidation reporting and foreign currency transactions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Experience with modern accounting processes and technology, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of collaborating effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a results-oriented focus.
  • Experience in managing and developing a diverse accounting team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in German and English.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Oracle R12 is preferred.
