ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Accounting Manager for our EMEA operations across multiple countries. In this pivotal position, you will play a crucial role in steering the financial and accounting functions, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, while enhancing systems and procedures to ensure robust policy and control measures. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a solid foundation in operational and technical accounting, and a proactive approach to achieving results. This position offers both challenges and rewards, providing significant exposure to senior leadership and a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the financial statement closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in compliance with US GAAP, including the review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the EMEA region.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other key financial areas to ensure seamless operations.
  • Supervise the preparation of annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures and management discussions for each EMEA entity.
  • Work cross-functionally with international teams to standardize and enhance the International Accounting process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements in policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, optimizing and automating accounting processes for efficiency.
  • Engage with outsourced partners on ERP system design and implementation projects, particularly those related to new processes and accounting policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of consolidation reporting and foreign currency translation.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while achieving objectives.
  • Experience with modern accounting processes and technology, including advanced Excel and data management skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Experience with Oracle R12 is preferred.
