**We seek**:
In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Maschinenbau - Numerische Mechanik, we are looking for a researcher as of the nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt at the following conditions:

- 100% = 39,83 hours
- Pay grade 13 TV-L
- limited for three years

**Your tasks**:

- The University of Siegen is seeking at the Chair of Computational Mechanics a research Assistant to support DFG research projects on the homogenization of non-linear material with gradient effects as well as on contact and fracture mechanics for such materials. Within these projects, we develop novel numerical methods for the simulation of such materials with additional consideration of micro
- and macro-fracture effects. Moreover, we adapt various methodologies for the boundary conditions of gradient materials and adapt them for contact mechanics with dissipation. In particular, continuum mechanical investigations as well as their numerical treatment using finite elements are planed. Experimental data for comparison of the results will be provided by our cooperation partners.- Your main tasks will be- Work on the research tasks in the projects and joint work on the planned work objectives within the work group.
- Implementation and simulation as well as evaluation and analysis of the results.
- Collaboration on scientific publications.
- Partizipation in national and international conferences and presentation of the results of the own work.

**Your profile**:

- University degree in an engineering degree program (e.g. civil and mechanical engineering, aerospace, computational mechanics) with a Master degree or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of continuum mechanics and numerical methods (finite element methods).
- Basic programming knowledge.
- Very good knowledge of English.
