**for Structural Mechanics**

**Your Responsibilities**:
You represent the field of structural mechanics in its entire range in research and teaching and you contribute to the strategic development of research in current and future-oriented topics in civil engineering. Within the framework of the research focus "Future-proof Civil Infrastructure" of the department of Civil Engineering active cooperation with e.g. the chairs of Structural Concrete, Steel and Steel Composite Construction and Geotechnical Engineering is expected. Further interfaces are offered by thematically related chairs within the Faculty of Science and Technology.

In teaching, you will be responsible for the topics of engineering mechanics, structural mechanics, structural dynamics and numerical methods in the civil engineering degree programs. The courses on engineering mechanics and numerical methods are supported by a position of a scientific advisor. In addition, you will actively and constructively participate in the self-governing bodies of the university.

You have the special qualification for scientific work with an engineering science background, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral degree, and additional scientific achievements, which will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively in the appointment procedure.

You have outstanding research achievements, preferably in several of the following research fields:

- Structural health monitoring and life cycle analyses, parameter identification, and inverse problems
- Uncertainty evaluation, reliability of structures and structural components
- Data-driven modeling in civil engineering
- Structural dynamics, soil-structure interaction
- Multifunctional building materials and construction methods (e.g. composites, metamaterials, high performance building materials, metastructures).
