Project Manager for Gene Therapy Development

OptoGenTech GmbH is seeking a dedicated and motivated Project Manager for our gene therapy division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of gene therapy medicinal product (GTMP) production with partners, designing preclinical studies, coordinating partnerships with manufacturing collaborators, aligning of milestones with academic programs and preparing for meetings with regulatory bodies. This position is limited to 18 months, starting 01.10.2024.
Responsibilities
- GTMP Production: Oversee the process development from academic scale to industrial production of a gene therapy medicinal product in collaboration with external partners.
- Preclinical Study Design: Lead the design and implementation of preclinical studies to advance our gene therapy research, ensuring compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.
- Partnership Coordination: Manage and coordinate relationships with manufacturing partners to facilitate seamless project execution and operational efficiency.
- Regulatory Preparation: Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports for meetings with regulatory bodies, including developing and detailing the regulatory pathway for approval.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Medicine or a related field.
- Experience in translational research.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic knowledge about regulatory approval of GTMPs in Europe.
- Proficiency in German and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of gene therapy and GTMP production processes.
- Experience in project management within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Previous experience working with regulatory bodies.
