Postdoc Gene Therapy full time, 38,5 hours per week, limited until 31.03.2026

The Institute for Auditory Neuroscience within the University Medical Center Göttingen investigates the physiology and pathophysiology of auditory synaptic transmission. Development of novel optogenetic therapies for hearing restoration and their transfer towards clinical application are central aims of the institute. We are searching for a senior scientist (f/m/d) to support development of a gene therapy medicinal product (GTMP) Your tasks Key responsibilities:
  • Development of a scalable, GMP-compliant process for rAAV production
  • Implementation of quality control measures
  • Close collaboration and coordination with academic and non-academic partners for transition of the process towards GMP
  • Coordination of preclinical studies regarding effectivity and biosafety of the for future GTMP
Your qualifications Required qualifications:
  • Advanced degreed (PhD/ MD or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Medicine or a related field
  • Strong understanding of gene therapy and GTMP production processes
  • Knowledge of cell culture and molecular biology
  • Independent, responsible, flexible working style and ability to work in an international team
  • Basic knowledge about regulatory approval of GTMPs in Europe
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in work with lab animals (FELASA certificate or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with regulatory bodies
  • Experience in translational research
  • Experience with GMP or GLP compliance
