The job

The Department of Applied Microbial Ecology is looking for a postdoctoral researcher (f/m/x) with a strong interest in soil microbial ecology. The position is part of the Environmental Antimicrobial Resistance Group led by Dr. Anja Worrich. The position will investigate how antibiotics in soils affect the interactions between plants and microbes and what consequences this has for plant health. We are particularly interested in candidates who would like to contribute their own ideas to the project.

Your tasks

Analyze the impact of antibiotics on plant-microbe interactions (beneficial or detrimental) Explore the consequences for plant productivity and health Develop and apply tools appropriate to answer the research questions (e.g. SIP-workflows, chemical imaging, omics approaches) Develop ideas for new research projects and contribute to the writing of grant applications Co-supervise PhD students and technicians in the working group Carry out collaborative projects with colleagues in partner institutions

Your profile

PhD degree in biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, environmental sciences or related fields Experience in soil microbiology and plant-microbe interactions Data analysis using R or similar Excellent communication skills in English Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently Experience in supervision involving students and/or junior team members
