Key responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Systems - Operations Manager m/f/d to join our dynamic team at ABB. You will showcase your expertise by being a key resource, a definitive source of knowledge about services and solutions, to contribute your expertise to enhance organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing server infrastructure and a strong understanding of both Windows and Linux environments, while also ensuring IS security. This role will involve overseeing the monitoring of systems and ensuring optimal performance across our IT infrastructure.

You will coordinate and supervise internal and/or external 3rd party supplier resources for the effective delivery and operational performance of the services in scope ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• The day-to-day execution of IS domain service operations, including delivery, escalation, and relationship management.
• Incident management, ensuring service restoration within the agreed SLA, conducting business impact analysis, and prioritizing incidents accordingly.
• Provides leadership to temporary work teams, guiding and monitoring task completion.
• Dedicate resources to monitor problem volumes, RCA quality and solution timeline and follow up on potential improvement opportunities.
• Maps business process demand to existing or new IS services. Providing and helping on the direction of new demands and projects in collaboration with IS Service Owners.
• Ensures IS Security of IT and OT production systems, continuous monitoring and patching.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server infrastructure.

Qualifications for the role

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT environment with experience in supporting operation, maintenance, implementation of applications as well as overall IT network management.
• Degree in any specialization with focus on IS/IT (Computer Science, Information technology/system, Business Informatics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field).
• Sound knowledge of operating systems, IS security and network technology required in industrial production factories.
• Ability to comprehend both IT and business perspectives, along with the skill to communicate technical information effectively to a non-technical audience.
• Fluently English and german spoken and written
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization technologies is highly desirable.
