We're looking for a Technical Program Manager at Freenow to drive cross-functional initiatives, leveraging strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills. Due to Lyft's recent acquisition of Freenow, you will specifically lead cross-company projects between Lyft and Freenow. This role acts as an enabler and gatekeeper, holding all individual project leads accountable for their deliverables.
You are expected to be technically strong with a product and software engineering background. You are a problem-solver who makes things happen by setting clear goals and inspiring teams to deliver. You are both strategic and tactical and do what it takes to successfully deliver top-priority projects that have a material impact on the business.
In this role, you will be supporting the Rider, Driver, Marketplace, and Platform growth. Specific product use cases include Airports, Marketplace expansion, and Autonomous Vehicles, while platform areas include Payments and Mapping. You will collaborate with engineering, product, data science, analytics, and operations on technology programs that enable us to iterate quickly in delighting our riders and drivers.
YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:
- You will lead strategic cross-functional initiatives from concept to delivery, through focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability.
- You will manage cross-company projects, ensuring alignment between Lyft and Freenow.
- You will push workstream leads to deliver on their milestones and provide support to the teams.
- You will identify and proactively solve risks, help resolve them, or escalate them as necessary.
- You will leverage deep technical expertise with large-scale, distributed 24x7 production systems to build comprehensive plans, identify risks, and ensure smooth project launches with a goal of delighting our passengers and drivers.
- You will partner with engineering, product, and business leadership to build highly collaborative teams and enhance communication across teams and stakeholders.
- You will identify and resolve systemic issues impacting Freenow engineering and aggressively take action to resolve.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
- You have a technical background and at least three years of experience in a customer-facing product environment.
- You have experience leading cross-functional complex projects iteratively with multiple dependencies and constraints, in a highly dynamic and agile environment.
- You have a proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of extreme ambiguity, with only high-level direction.
- You have experience building roadmaps, release plans, and project plans with a thorough understanding of dependency management.
- You are able to communicate highly technical problems and solutions at all levels, from engineer to partner to C-level executives.
- You are able to influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a matrixed environment. You have excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail.
- You have experience delivering projects in large-scale, distributed production systems and 24x7 production operations.
- You have experience compiling and presenting business & technology options, backed by data & experimentation, to decision-makers.
