Who are we looking for?We are seeking a strategic and technically-minded Business Development Manager to drive growth across our specialty chemical portfolio. This role blends deep technical expertise with commercial acumen, making it ideal for someone who understands complex chemical products and can translate that knowledge into customer value and market expansion.
What will you be doing?A customer facing role, the primary responsibilities are as follows:
- To support the Strategic Account and Account Managers achieve year-over-year revenue and margin growth targets as well as assigned account development goals and objectives.
- To provide technical and applications credibility during customer interactions that help support the ESI roadmap to revenue process and/or strategic account plans
- To be the technical bridge between the LOB's/BU's and the sales team
- To feedback customer insight to the LOB and BU teams from a technology perspective
- To create, lead and execute on robust product trial plans with customers defining testing criteria and establishing how success will be measured
- To be the 1st line of defence in customer crisis management situations directly related to "line down" and/or technical customer complaints.
- Ability to maintain a solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to take responsibility for actions and outcomes and persist despite obstacles; be available and demonstrate dependability.
- Ability to prepare for emerging customer needs, manage multiple projects, determine project urgency in a meaningful and practical way; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans, and organize and schedule people and tasks.
- Ability to use a win-win approach to resolve conflicts; stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive situations; maintain constructive working relationships despite disagreement.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevent industry eperience.

- Strong analytical and statistical skills for problem solving.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task with 'can do attitude.'
- Be willing to travel 50 percent of the time
- Proven project management and scheduling skills
- Solve problems and troubleshoot technical matters while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues
- Outstanding customer relations skills and be able to adapt to varying customer needs
- Manage transitions effectively and change focus quickly
