Head of Business Development

Your Role
As Head of Business Development, you will be at the forefront of our new business process, laying the technical and commercial groundwork that our talented design team will build upon. You will be collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to refine and execute our business development strategy. Your work will ensure the proposals we create align with our clients' business objectives and resonate with our company values.
Responsibilities
- Strategic oversight: Establish, manage, and optimize BD processes across VAVE and its subsidiaries, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficiency. Serve as the first point of contact for new international business inquiries and oversee their progression into actionable projects.
- First point of contact: Handle all new business inquires and consult international clients from first contact to project inception
- RFI Responses: Respond to all requests for informations by providing our clients with prompt consulting and company data.
- RFP Responses: Manage the preparation of all responses to requests for proposals by collaboration with our technical and commercial teams alike.
- CRM Management: Manage and monitor our client and supplier relation platforms and check tender platform to potential requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Ressource Management: Identify and connect the required competencies and resources for each project.
- Research: Conduct primary qualitative and quantitative research, including competitor analysis, market research, target audience research, and trend analysis.
- Presentation and Documentation: Craft well structured presentations to communicate information effectively to clients and team members
- Reporting: keep everyone updated and aligned by presenting debriefs and executive summaries to the management board.
- Network Expansion: Grow our network by attending conferences and business events.
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze and understand client challenges
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Proven ability to consult clients and business partners with a collaborative mind set.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage workflows and multiple requests simultaneously
- Proficiency in English and good knowledge of German. (additional languages, especially chinese is a plus)
- Experienced with presentation software such as Keynote and Microsoft Office; and Exel.
General Requirements:
- University degree in a related field (preferably business, marketing, communication, or cultural studies).
- minimum 5+ years of professional experience in international business relations (preferable in an creative consultancy, design or architectural environment).
- Good understanding of business models and brand systems.
- Up-to-date knowledge of cultural trends in brand communication, exhibition design, technology innovations, and global social movements.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in preparing, and evaluating strategic project workshops for international clients.
