Director - Berlin Global Dialogue

Berlin Global Dialogue will be led by two Co-Directors, both reporting to the Chairman of Berlin Global Dialogue. The Berlin Global Dialogue team is looking to fill the position of the Director responsible for fundraising, partnership management, and event management. The two Co-Directors will work jointly on team management, budget, and organizational development.

**Director - Berlin Global Dialogue**
(M/F/x, full-time, to start as soon as possible)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Fundraising_
- Develop and execute the fundraising strategy for Berlin Global Dialogue to ensure the achievement of fundraising goals.
- Identify potential sponsors and donors, manage outreach and pitches, and update the fundraising pipeline.
- Create and maintain pitch materials and sales documents.
- Work closely with the legal and accounting teams to finalize contracts and payment processes.
- Develop additional fundraising opportunities beyond the annual summit to diversify funding sources.
- Partnership Management_
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Berlin Global Dialogue sponsors and donors (partners).
- Drive the successful implementation of all partnership deliverables before, during, and after the annual summit.
- Ensure regular communication with and consultation of all partners.
- Collaborate with the Co-Director to integrate partners into the program and the program development process.
- Manage Strategic Council meetings, including preparing pre-read materials and agendas.
- Oversee the creation of a partnership report after the summit.
- Event Management_
- Oversee the event management of Berlin Global Dialogue and manage the event manager to ensure the annual summit is well prepared and executed to a high standard.
- Steer the event management project plan and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Oversee the event manager in managing external event service providers and resolving escalated issues as needed.
- Oversee the development and execution of the accompanying program of the summit (e.g., dinners, receptions, etc.).
- Provide guidance to the event manager and ensure full alignment with the ESMT Events Team.
- Overall Management_

Working jointly with the Co-Director on:

- Team Management and alignment: Day-to-day team management, hiring for open positions, setting performance targets and evaluations, ensuring alignment across the team and all work streams.
- Finance and legal: Manage and update the overall budget, create projections, process payments and contracts.
- Internal alignment: Work closely with relevant teams within ESMT Berlin to ensure the best use of internal resources and alignment of objectives.
- Organizational development: Identify areas of development and expansion to continue building the Berlin Global Dialogue and further its mission.

**Requirements**:

- Proven track record in raising significant funding for a project or business.
- Extensive experience in securing and managing corporate partnerships.
- Team leader with exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with extensive experience managing various internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing and guiding the event management of complex, high-level summits or comparable events.
- Proficient in forecasting and meticulously overseeing budgets, ensuring financial precision and effectiveness.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Keen interest in working at the intersection of politics, business, and academia.
