We are an early-stage startup founded by the serial entrepreneurs Dr. Johannes Becher (Getsurance, Rocket Internet) and Dmitry Muzhikov (Alteos, Coya, Kreditech). Embea is backed by top-tier investors such as Atlantic Labs (GetYourGuide, Gorillas, Choco).
Salary range: € 70.000 - 110.000 + Equity
**Your Impact**
The Director of Business Development is a new role and a clean sheet opportunity. For Embea this is a critical leadership role in which you will actively shape the future of a promising high-growth company tackling a multi-billion dollar market. You will define and drive the company’s Sales and Partnership Strategy from the ground up. You will be responsible for establishing new and growing existing relationships with B2B partners. Taking responsibility for building and leading a high-performing team with scalable processes is also part of this role.
**Your Mission**
- Work closely with our founders who have previously built successful InsurTech startups
- Be a founding member of our business development team
- Lay the foundation for the companies’ growth ambitions by shaping our B2B2C sales strategy
- Identify and prioritize potential distribution partners all across the European Union
- Create and develop long-lasting B2B partnerships
- Build a team around yourself consisting of highly motivated professionals
- Implement efficient and scalable sales processes using state-of-the-art software
- Take on the commercial and operational responsibility for existing partners and optimize and scale them
- Work closely with our Product team by providing valuable insights into our partner’s problems and needs
- Develop and test hypotheses that will shape our sales processes
- Introduce and own key metrics necessary to track our growth
- Attend events and represent the company
**What you need to succeed**
- A track record of building up a B2B Direct Sales or Partnership team from scratch
- An entrepreneurial mindset and experience from working in a startup or tech environment
- Experience setting up and working with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Outstanding communication style paired with an excellent persuasion skill set
- Fluent in English. German or other European language skills are a big plus
