**Duties**:

- As the senior technical expert, provides the overall systems engineering and technical integration for the planning, development, acquisition, and implementation cycle for Army Information Mission Area (IMA) requirements in their specialty area.
- Performs critical analysis concerning engineering and implementation of specialty area systems.
- Participates in all ongoing technical teams involved with the engineering, computer science, implementation and test of these programs, projects, and technologies.
- Provides exceptional technical expertise, advice, guidance, and hands-on skills for preparation of information systems plans, system design plans, and specifications for major Army and DoD programs/projects in their specialty area.
- Initiates and conducts broad studies to determine the most feasible methodology to meet Army requirements using all available systems (military and commercial).

- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Duties of this position require the incumbent to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET Clearance requiring access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
- This is a Drug Testing Designated Position.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program)
- and must pass urinalysis testing, as required, prior to appointment, reassignment or transfer and periodically thereafter.
- This position is designated as a DoD 8570-01-M Information Assurance Technical Level II (or greater) and/or IASAE II requires specific certifications be obtained within 6 months of appointment.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time.
- Must obtain and maintain a no-fee passport and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa, if authorized.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued,
- required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

**This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Level within the CES Occupational Structure.**

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by planning and advising on projects involving enterprise telecommunications networks; configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of standard/common Campus Area Network (CAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) IT equipment and technologies; developing and delivering network and system engineering and implementation documentation; and performing critical analysis concerning engineering and implementation of specialty area systems considering policy architectures.

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
