Underwriter Casualty Treaty for EU/LA 4.5.4 (Iberia, Latin America & Caribbean).

For our Casualty Treaty Team in EU/LA 4.5.4 we are looking for a qualified and highly motivated Casualty Treaty Underwriter for **predominantly the Iberian market.** Our aim is to generate value for our clients and Munich Re by identifying challenges and pain points along our client’s value chain. Besides dealing with complex reinsurance treaties we are working on various innovative client projects (including start-ups).

**Your Job**:

- Assessment and acceptance of treaty reinsurance submissions, including price calculation and reinsurance conditions in accordance with the underwriting guidelines, internal rules and authorities, with the objective to grow and optimise the portfolio
- Support ensuring UW quality
- Business analyses with focus on profitability, performance and portfolio development
- Refinement and development of innovative solutions and new business models
- Negotiations with cedants and brokers
- Communication and presentation of expertise and solutions, both internally and externally
- Steering of and working in projects (within the department and across departments)
- Cooperation in the strategy development within responsibility
- Actively support business development and service offerings within the region, managing various interfaces within MR Group

**Your Profile**:

- University degree, preferably Lawyer, Mathematics (Actuary) or Business Administration/Economics or comparable education
- Good level of expertise in Casualty Underwriting and Pricing of long-tail business
- Keen interest in legal aspects, new topics, trends and developments such as emerging risks and exposures
- Strong client focus and ability to identify clients’ needs and transform these into viable concepts and profitable business
- Distinct analytical, conceptual and interpersonal skills, a creative mindset with a reliable, result-oriented way of working as well as outstanding motivation, commitment, individual responsibility
- True Teamplayer, high level of empathy, enthusiasm, make decisions and assume responsibility
- Experience in project management a plus
- Good command of English and Spanish
- Experience in and willingness to communicate and present (internally and to clients)
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Strong negotiating skills
- Experience in direct insurance, broking or consultancy a big plus.
