Within our Property Underwriting department in EU/LA 1.4, the team is responsible for the underwriting, development and profitability of the XL property treaty portfolio in the markets of the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Nordics. With our current portfolio across these markets and a diverse set of clients (multinational, local clients with international scope and entirely local clients), we strive for a strong contribution towards our business division’s goals which ultimately contribute to deliver sustainable, stable returns. Inspired by these goals, we look to grow our portfolio with a clear focus on sustainable profitability by putting various kinds of underwriting and modelling expertise into practice.

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Underwriter, whose fields of activity will cover the above-mentioned markets and comprise clients which are characterized by a unique model, e.g., Pools. Furthermore, this position will have a strong focus on Nat Cat-modelling expertise for which the activity radius will be across all our markets. The diversity in backgrounds and experiences in our two Property Treaty Underwriting teams in combination with the diverse set of responsibilities which come with this position allow to identify and drive topics and opportunities forward together with the teams and to develop thought leadership in an inclusive manner.

**Your Job**
- Acquiring and/or renewing, structuring and pricing property treaty reinsurance business for accounts across the above-mentioned markets
- Responsibility for the topics in the field of Nat Cat-modelling in our department which includes quality assurance and further developing modelling capabilities in the teams
- Driving business development together with Client Management and fostering a business development mindset within the underwriting team
- Contributing to the establishment of opinion leadership with respect to external stakeholders as well as internally, incl. supervising UW colleagues and providing guidance
- Proactively supporting management in developing and executing the Property Underwriting strategy as well as the further development of the overall team

**Your Profile**
- In-depth knowledge and experience in underwriting non-proportional property treaty business; an actuarial background is an advantage
- Analytical and interpersonal skillset paired with thorough expertise with Microsoft Excel and other data analytics tools; Power BI is an advantage
- Client and solution-oriented mindset as well as the ability to identify clients' needs and transform these into viable concepts and profitable business
- Reliability with an outstanding commitment and willingness to travel
- Enthusiasm and ability to drive business projects, assume responsibility and provide support, guidance, inspiration and leadership to the team
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
