Global Clients (GC/NA) aims to be the Go-To-Partner for Munich Re’s largest clients and deliver “the best we have and are”. We are advancing in our transformation journey in the Global Clients team which focuses on how to better serve our Global, Lloyds and Bermudian clients by embracing both strong technical underwriting skills and a client centric approach. To bring technical and client centric methods even closer together and live a holistic concept for our clients, we introduced the role of the “Lead Underwriter”. One of the main reasons for the concept of the Lead Underwriter is to have an even deeper understanding of the development of the market overall and identify portfolio patterns and give early impulses for cycle
- and portfolio management.

As Lead Underwriter Property for Lloyds and Bermuda you will be located within the Client Management team for Lloyd’s and Bermuda and act as a connection and integral part of the (GC/NA1) Property community. Within your responsibility you will oversee the Property portfolio and in close cooperation with the CMs this will be managed.

Our clients in the London Market value us as a sparring partner to discuss market developments and insights, jointly re-think structures and coverages and exchange on market intelligence.

A high level of underwriting excellence and a thorough understanding of Lloyd’s and London Market specifics is a key component of our value proposition in this business segment. These competences are a decisive differentiator in our relationship with the Syndicates and Bermuda players and emphasize the importance of the role of the Lead Underwriter.

**Your Job**

In your responsibility you will be in charge of overlooking the Property portfolio overall for the Lloyds space and Bermuda clients.
- Take initiative and provide early impulses for steering and optimizing the property treaty portfolio of Munich Re in the Lloyds Market and with Bermuda Clients on basis of a thorough understanding of the London Market in property and its primary insurance and reinsurance cycles
- Acquire and display a deep understanding of Lloyds and the London Market in property, its portfolios, steering measures, performance, business development & RI buying
- Ensure underwriting consistency within the Lloyds and Bermuda property portfolio by overseeing all treaties as Senior Underwriter and being an active member in the UW community
- Identify and address new business potentials as well as changes in reinsurance requirements and advance property underwriting strategies
- Actively manage and develop the relationships with important stakeholders and decision makers of Lloyds/Bermuda clients and brokers and be first point of contact for all Property related topics
- Assume communication responsibilities for UW managed accounts
- Be an active member of the GC/NA1 Property UW Community and support development of UWs and technical UW topics
- Contribute and re-shape the GC/NA1 culture and way of working on our transformation journey

**Your Profile**
- Very good university degree in Economics or Mathematics
- In-depth knowledge of pricing and reporting tools and steering mechanism
- Working autonomously, accurately and reliably, pronounced ability to work in a team
- Highly motivated team player with leadership capabilities and challenging the status quo
- Outstanding conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to think and act strategically
- Ability to supervise and guide others, and to work effectively with people at varying levels within the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
