Role Summary

The APAC Supplier Commercial Manager will report to the Vice President, Supplier Management, and be responsible for driving high-profile deals that require regional expertise and in-depth understanding of the Asia Pacific telecom market. This role will also assist in reviewing costs and negotiations with suppliers for specific large opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with Sales, Sales Engineering, and internal costing teams to monitor project completion and meet timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Utilize market expertise to ensure accurate costing and data integrity.
  • Maintain current vendor information, including contracts and contact details, in internal databases.
  • Review and edit vendor contract proposals.
  • Collect and report on objectives and initiatives of other GTT organizations requiring vendor activity.
  • Liaise with vendors to gather and document contact information and service capabilities.
  • Advocate with vendors for issue resolution.
  • Document and control access to vendor portals for order submission and trouble management.
  • Perform ad-hoc research and reporting on vendor spend, inventory, capabilities, and issues.
  • Produce department documents and maintain filing systems.
  • Provide quarterly feedback to vendors on performance.
Requirements
  • Market-level expertise of the Asia Pacific market and regions, specifically in the telecommunications space.
  • Experience in the Middle East and Africa telecom space is a strong advantage.
  • 7+ years of data telecom experience, with at least 3 years in managing wholesale supplier relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivation and good planning skills.
  • Experience assembling bids for large enterprise network opportunities.
  • Advanced PC skills with Windows applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong document and database management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Knowledge of vendor contracts and support of contract negotiations.
  • Experience supporting a large volume of suppliers.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Desire to learn new material in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical knowledge of GTT products.
  • Telecom networks.
  • Four-year degree in Business or related discipline is preferred.
Work Environment
  • The role is full-time.
  • This role may be based in one of GTT's major markets within Europe.
  • Remote work is possible.
  • Domestic or international travel for company and vendor meetings is required.
