Head of Junior Research Group in Target Screening and Immunoreceptor Engineering for Immunotherapy

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to lead an independent junior research group in the field of Target Screening and Immunoreceptor Engineering for Immunotherapy at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ).
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate research projects in the field of target screening and immunoreceptor engineering
- Develop ideas for Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) and lead the acquisition of national and international third-party funding
- Lead a growing research group, mentoring postdocs and students, and fostering collaborations with local and international research communities
- Contribute to the development of innovative clinical trials and the translation of laboratory findings to the clinic
- Master's degree and PhD in biology or related area or an MD degree
- Excellent postdoctoral research experience in the field of target screening and/or immunoreceptor engineering
- Strong publication record and ability to manage and coordinate research projects
- High motivation to independently initiate the acquisition of third-party funding and interest in leading a growing research group
- Independent, self-reliant, and responsible leadership style, with a strong will to initiate collaborations and contribute to the local research community
- Verbal and written English language fluency and ability to work in an international research environment
