Director of Junior Research Group in Immunotherapy Engineering

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly innovative and collaborative individual to lead an independent Junior Research Group focused on Target Screening and Immunoreceptor Engineering for Immunotherapy at NCT WERA. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading research initiatives aimed at generating engineered immune cells and conducting clinical evaluations of tumor antigen expression, which includes receptors and ligands, for immunotherapeutic Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs). This role offers the opportunity to stratify and continuously monitor response and resistance mechanisms in cancer treatment.

Your Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s degree and PhD in biology or a related field, or an MD degree.
- Significant postdoctoral research experience (between two to six years) in target screening and/or immunoreceptor engineering.
- A robust publication record demonstrating research excellence.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate research projects, with a focus on developing ideas for IITs.
- A strong drive to independently secure national and international third-party funding while leading a growing research group.
- A self-reliant and responsible approach to leading a research team, including mentoring postdoctoral researchers and students.
- A proactive attitude towards initiating collaborations and contributing to the local research community.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English, suitable for an international research environment.
