Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to lead an independent Junior Research Group focused on Target Screening and Immunoreceptor Engineering for Immunotherapy. This role is situated within the framework of the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) WERA, which emphasizes cutting-edge clinical trials and the rapid translation of laboratory discoveries into patient care.
The NCT represents a collaborative effort involving premier institutions in cancer research, dedicated to enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients. The WERA site, in partnership with several universities and hospitals, aims to serve a significant population while fostering a robust research environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of engineered immune cells and conduct clinical evaluations of tumor antigen expression.
- Oversee the execution of Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) to facilitate patient stratification and monitor treatment responses.
- Collaborate with experts in immuno-oncology and advanced imaging to leverage the extensive resources available at NCT WERA.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's degree and PhD in biology or a related field, or an MD.
- Significant postdoctoral experience (2-6 years) in target screening or immunoreceptor engineering.
- A strong publication record demonstrating research excellence.
- Proven ability to manage research projects and develop innovative ideas for IITs.
- A proactive approach to securing national and international funding.
- Experience in mentoring and leading research teams.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to thrive in an international research setting.
