Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Software to join our headquarters in Stuttgart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Inspire and lead a high-performing team of Software, Firmware, and Test Engineers.
  • Technical Leadership Software: Lead the software development section, make architectural decisions, perform code reviews, and ensure robust solutions.
  • Quality & Processes: Own the process landscape, establish best practices, and ensure a modern development workflow.
  • Innovation and Research: Drive innovation, stay updated on industry trends, and represent the software department in management meetings.
  • Collaboration: Work with other department heads to ensure smooth deployment of new software to series production.
  • Career Development: Coach and mentor department members and encourage continuous learning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, preferably in a hardware context.
  • Strong software architecture and design knowledge.
  • Proficiency in at least 3 out of these technologies: C#, Qt, C++, WPF, Typescript, Python, YAML-based CI/CD, Yocto, Raspberry Pi.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
  • Cross-functional problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in life sciences or laboratory automation is advantageous.
