We are currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Mainframe Assembler Development at one of our locations in Germany.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize advanced expertise in Mainframe Assembler programming (on BS2000 or z/OS) along with proficiency in C programming to design, test, and maintain essential software applications.
  • Identify and rectify software defects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and a stable software environment.
  • Examine and enhance existing BS2000 or z/OS Assembler code to boost performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all software development tasks, including design specifications, code documentation, and testing protocols.
  • Engage in a software development process that employs lean and agile methodologies.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Software Developer with specialization in Mainframe BS2000 or z/OS Assembler programming.
  • Thorough understanding of mainframe architecture, software development lifecycle, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with C/C++, and knowledge of Adabas/Natural is advantageous.
  • Programming experience with Java on z/OS would enhance your profile.
  • Proficient knowledge of JCL.
  • Understanding of network communications, such as TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Liberty.
  • Experience with integration platforms and middleware solutions is beneficial.
  • A passion for clean, testable, and maintainable code, along with an openness to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and the capability to troubleshoot complex software challenges.
