About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer to join our engineering team for international locomotive projects in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and verify the traction system for electric or hybrid-electric locomotives, including technical clarification, specification, and software development.
- Work with the engineering team to design and implement traction control systems that meet market requirements and trends.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop software that brings traction hardware to life and tests it in the laboratory and on the locomotive.
- Pick up market requirements and trends and derive from them the technical further development of the traction control system.
- Work together as a team on solutions for current design, new customer requirements, improvements, and new functions.
- Staying focused on the reusability of work results to foster our platform strategy, have an eye on costs and deadlines.
About You
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics.
- Longstanding experience in the field of control of electrical drives.
- Sound knowledge in structured and model-based software development - from requirements analysis to testing and documentation.
- Knowledge in alternative drive technologies like battery and/or hydrogen.
- Able to understand and define complex systems and use a structured way of working, problem-solving, and documentation.
