We are seeking a skilled Mechanic for Sanitary, Heating, and Climate Systems to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of operation, maintenance, and repair tasks on different types of utility systems, including heating and cooling systems, hot water and steam systems, and air handling and ventilation systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on utility systems, including heating and cooling systems, hot water and steam systems, and air handling and ventilation systems.
- Locate and repair broken, worn, or damaged equipment, fixtures, or parts.
- Test installed parts and equipment for proper and safe operation.
- Disassemble equipment, locate defective parts, and make necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Read and report energy and water meters, chemical consumption, and fuel oil and natural gas consumption.
- Update logbooks and maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
- Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
- 5 years of specialized experience, or 2 years of experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent.
- Ability to perform tasks independently.
- German driver's license class B.
- English language proficiency level A1 and German language proficiency level B2.
The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel). Working on weekends and holidays, as well as shift work, is required. On-Call duty is also required. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
