Heating and Cooling Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic for Utility Systems to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of operations, maintenance, and repairs on different types of utility systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heating and cooling systems, including large central or single fuel oil/natural gas/liquid gas/wood-fired heating plants, hot water/steam systems, radiator/floor/radiant heating systems, and hot air blower/ventilation systems.
- Activate, deactivate, fill, vent, and drain systems to ensure safe operation of all plants and systems.
- Locate and repair broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating equipment, fixtures, or parts.
- Remove, replace, clean, repack, and seal defective parts and equipment of utility, supply, and disposal systems.
- Test installed parts and equipment for proper and safe operation.
- Disassemble equipment, locate defective parts, and make necessary adjustments and repairs.
- Read and report energy/water meters, chemical consumption, and fuel oil/natural gas/liquid gas/wood consumption; update logbooks.
- Repair and maintain hot and cold water treatment systems, take water samples from boilers, primary, and secondary heating systems, and humidity systems.
- Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
- 5 years of specialized experience, or 8 years of specialized experience with 3 years performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
- German driver's license class B.
- English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level B2.
- Occasional TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) within Germany.
- Working on weekends, Sundays, and holidays, as well as shift work.
- On-Call duty.
- Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
