Job Title: Mechanic for Sanitation, Heating, and Climate Systems

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic for Sanitation, Heating, and Climate Systems to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of operations, maintenance, and repairs on different types of utility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on heating and cooling systems, including large central or single fuel oil/natural gas/liquid gas/wood-fired heating plants, hot water/steam systems, radiator/floor/radiant heating systems, and hot air blower/ventilation systems.
  • Activate, deactivate, fill, vent, and drain systems to ensure safe operation of all plants and systems.
  • Locate and repair broken, worn, damaged, or poorly operating equipment, fixtures, or parts.
  • Use typical tools of the trade, such as electronic test equipment, pipe wrenches, hand and power threaders, rulers, hacksaws, etc.
  • Read and report energy/water meters, chemical consumption, and fuel oil/natural gas/liquid gas/wood consumption; update logbooks.
Requirements:
  • Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
  • 5 years of specialized experience, or 8 years of specialized experience with 3 years performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
  • German driver's license class B.
  • English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level B2.
