Job Title: Business Development Manager - Consumer Materials

Main Responsibilities:

As a Business Development Manager - Consumer Materials, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the consumer materials market.

You will establish strong relationships with existing customers and new prospects, executing a defined number of customer visits to reflect the intrinsic value of the customer relationship.

Additionally, you will represent the company at trade fairs, events, and congresses, promoting the company's products and services.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Volume and Margin Management: Responsible for achieving volume and margin targets within the set framework, regularly reporting on potentials and risks, and developing concepts for countermeasures.
  • Value Selling: Implement agreed sales conditions through a value selling approach, optimizing margin and volume, and managing risks.
  • Sales and Business Development: Identify opportunities to target growth and achieve sales objectives, implementing sales and business development plans.
  • Working Capital Management: Assist in achieving working capital objectives by optimizing payment terms, inventories, and ensuring customer adherence to terms.
  • Sales Forecasting: Participate in the monthly sales forecast process, contributing to the annual budget.
  • Distributor and Agent Management: Assist in managing suitable distributors and agents for target markets.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Monthly Business Report: Provide a monthly report on business activities, including sales performance versus budget, and market environment.
  • Visit Reports and Feedback: Provide visit reports and relevant feedback in CRM.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Analyze customer, competitor, and market trends, and demand structure in defined areas, regularly reporting into the organization.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams to identify new opportunities and promote new products, technology, and growth in specialty business.
  • Close Cooperation: Ensure close cooperation with Tech Service, Product Management, and Marketing to support activity in the territory.
  • Customer Focus: Work closely with Customer Service and Logistics to deliver a 'customer first' approach and ensure agreed service levels are maintained with all customers.
Requirements:
  • Commercial or Technical Degree: A university degree in a commercial or technical field, or first professional sales experience in the respective industry segment and area.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in German and English languages, with a preference for German native speakers.
  • Business Integrity: Outstanding business integrity and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
