Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex heavy equipment, including track vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose system malfunctions, isolate causes, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including inspections, replacements, and adjustments.
  • Identify and procure necessary parts and materials to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles after repairs and services have been completed to ensure safety and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including timesheets and manning reports.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure seamless workflow and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 years' experience as a mechanic, with a minimum of 4 years' specialized experience working with heavy equipment track vehicles.
  • Army MOS 91A/91M/91P is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret Army Technical Manuals with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • May be required to obtain a military driver's license (OF 346).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
