We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Amentum. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex issues with heavy equipment, including track vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose system malfunctions and isolate causes to ensure efficient repair and maintenance.
- Inspect, repair, and replace components, engines, transmissions, and sub-assemblies to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify parts in repair manuals and place order requests for needed parts to minimize downtime.
- Perform scheduled services on equipment fleets to maintain peak performance and efficiency.
- Conduct road tests on vehicles after repairs and services have been completed to ensure safety and quality.
- Maintain accurate daily timesheets and manning reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- 6 years' experience as a mechanic is required.
- 4 years' specialized experience working with heavy equipment track vehicles equivalent to the M1A2, M2A3, M109A6.
- Army MOS 91A/91M/91P is preferred.
- Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent walking, sitting, and standing.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outside weather conditions.
- Ability to work with a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
