About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Microtechnologist to join our team at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute. As a key member of our Photonic Components department, you will be responsible for technical collaboration in our front-end laboratory, implementing semiconductor technology processes for the production of optoelectronic components, and operating modern wafer processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement new semiconductor technology processes
- Design and implement optoelectronic components using advanced semiconductor technology
- Operate and maintain complex wafer processing systems to ensure high-quality component production
- Document results and create ISO documents to ensure compliance and quality
- Contribute innovative ideas and concepts to improve process efficiency and quality
Requirements
- Completed training as a microtechnologist, physical-technical assistant, chemical-technical assistant, physics laboratory assistant, or similar qualification
- Relevant practical experience in semiconductor processing, including UV lithography, dry etching, metallization, or microanalysis
- Extensive experience in assembly technology, including micro-assembly, soldering, wire bonding, or flip-chip technologies
- Confident manual handling of wafers or micro components
- Willingness to work in a clean room environment
- Ability to work in a team, with flexibility and a structured approach, even in time-critical situations

The position is initially limited to 2 years, with an extension desired.
