Research Assistant in Biophysics

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team at the Third Institute of Physics, University of Göttingen. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree while working on a cutting-edge research project in the field of biophysics.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement experiments to study the viscoelastic properties of cells using advanced light microscopy and atomic force microscopy techniques.
- Collect and analyze data to understand the role of the plasma membrane reservoir and membrane/actin cortex attachment in epithelial cells and cardiomyocytes.
- Develop and maintain a micropipette aspiration system integrated with an AFM and a spinning disk fluorescence microscope.
- Collaborate with the research group to perform leading-edge research and publish results in top-tier scientific journals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in Physics, Biology, or Chemistry (or equivalent).
- Experience working on the biophysics of cell mechanics using biological model systems.
- Proficiency in cellular biophysics, advanced light microscopy, and atomic force microscopy/colloidal probe microscopy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
