Research Scientist in Biophysics

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Third Institute of Physics, University of Göttingen. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of biophysics, with a focus on cell mechanics.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments to study the viscoelastic properties of cells and tissues
- Develop and implement new measurement methods to quantify forces and tension in 3D tissue, membranes, and filaments
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate new microscopy and analysis methods with quantitative measurements of viscoelastic properties
- Contribute to the development of new research projects and initiatives
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in Physics, Biology, or Chemistry (or equivalent)
- Experience working on the biophysics of cell mechanics using biological model systems
- Proficiency in cellular biophysics, advanced light microscopy, and atomic force microscopy/colloidal probe microscopy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
