Research Scientist in Biophysics

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the Third Institute of Physics at the University of Göttingen. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree while working on a cutting-edge research project in the field of biophysics.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Research Assistant will be responsible for integrating a micropipette aspiration system into an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) coupled to a spinning disk fluorescence microscope. This will enable the study of the role of the plasma membrane reservoir and membrane/actin cortex attachment in epithelial cells and cardiomyocytes on their response to controlled stretching of the cellular surface.
RequirementsTo be eligible for this position, the candidate should hold a Master's degree in Physics, Biology, or Chemistry, with experience working on the biophysics of cell mechanics using biological model systems. Proficiency in cellular biophysics, advanced light microscopy, and atomic force microscopy/colloidal probe microscopy is highly advantageous.
