Regional Sales Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Sales Manager to lead our territory team of sales professionals in driving revenue growth and advancing our business interests. The successful candidate will be accountable for managing day-to-day activities, coaching team members, and reinforcing our established sales culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to meet revenue goals and quotas.
  • Build targeted business plans and strategies for allocating resources and driving sales activities.
  • Mentor and coach Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Sales Support Staff on sales process, activity standards, and consultative selling.
  • Manage and assist Account Managers with sales tactics, identifying buying signals, handling objections, and deal strategies for existing and new customers.
  • Conduct deal reviews, manage metrics, and track pipeline activity to yield results.
  • Engage the right resources at the right times, including pre-sales, field service, pricing, and staff support.
  • Assist individuals in understanding clients' needs, qualifying opportunities, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
  • Hire and retain high-caliber sales talent, efficiently onboard new employees, and offboard non-performers.
  • Partner on curriculum development, onboarding new employees, implementing sales force development plans, and executing training.
  • Motivate and support sales teams in prospecting and selling, including high-level support in pursuing and closing new and install base deals.
  • Proactively assess, manage, and document employee performance to ensure individual and group excellence and provide essential feedback.
  • Establish and deliver weekly and targeted sales training and manage individual development plans to improve individual and sales team effectiveness.
  • Effectively use and reinforce the use of sales tools and metrics.
  • Prepare and present weekly comprehensive reports detailing team accomplishments and performance against plan.
  • Assist the team in developing and maintaining relationships with prospects, customers, internal resources, and partners.
  • Interact with senior executives to accurately forecast business and communicate sales team progress.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of inside sales experience, highly preferred.
  • Technical/Technology related sales management experience, required.
  • Work results that include success in achieving progressively high quota or other sales-related goals.
  • Demonstrated track record of customer acquisition and retention.
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify, negotiate, manage, and close deals.
  • Leadership experience with a documented record of achievement.
  • Proven experience motivating self and others.

Bonus Points:

  • Sales Team Lead Experience, preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.
