Job Description:

At the Berghof Foundation Operations GmbH, we are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Relationship Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining trusted relationships with key actors in and around the Horn of Africa and Red Sea region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Buiding and Maintaining Relationships:

Our ideal candidate will have expertise in establishing and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector entities. They will work closely with our project team and partners to design and implement projects that address the complex issues in the region.

Advisory Role:

  • Dialogue and Mediation Support:

The successful candidate will provide expert advice and guidance on project design, capacity building, dialogue, and mediation support activities. They will also facilitate workshops and training sessions to build the capacity of our project partners and stakeholders.

Coaching and Advice:

  • Individual Coaching:
  • Group Facilitation:

In addition to their advisory role, our Strategic Relationship Manager will provide individual coaching and group facilitation to project partners and stakeholders. They will help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to effectively implement projects and achieve their goals.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Liaison with Stakeholders:

The successful candidate will maintain close relationships with our project partners, parties, national and international stakeholders, and other relevant actors in the region. They will ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

As a key member of our team, our Strategic Relationship Manager will provide written feedback and substantive inputs for strategy documents, concept notes, research papers, and policy briefs.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as International Relations, Conflict Resolution, or Development Studies;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea region;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Fluency in English language (written and spoken).
