About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal, Employee Relations Specialist to join our People & Culture team at Delivery Hero. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting all Employment Legal matters and establishing a collaborative relationship with our works council.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in German employment law and employee relations, with a proven track record of working from election to implementation of works councils and managing works councils in highly demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations Expertise: Provide sound, expert ER advice and guidance to People Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders on reorganization and restructuring activity in line with local employment practices and employment law.
  • Training and Education: Curate and deliver relevant training and education to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness and drive better ER decisions.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration: Build partnerships with business leaders and our People Partner team (HRBPs) to sustain positive employee relations practices.
  • Works Council Management: Foster strong working relationships with our Employment Legal team, compliance, and investigations teams to balance risk and calibrate recommendations for decision-making.
  • Business Decision Support: Prepare information and consultation of works councils to advise on business decisions as well as participate in negotiations with works council in committee proceedings.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: At least 5+ years of professional experience in German employment law and employee relations or similar roles ideally with an HR focus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, ideally with a focus on HR or Employment Law.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English; German is a big plus.
  • Skills and Qualities: Highly passionate about creative problem-solving and have excellent interpersonal skills and communication with an eye for detail. Structured thinker with experience in program/project management. Progressive, hands-on, and customer-obsessed person with the credibility and gravitas to succeed in a fast-moving and customer-focused high-tech environment.
