Lead Technology Strategist – Power Electronics

Senior Technology Manager – Power Electronics (m/f/n)

Location: Flexible across Germany

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of cutting-edge technology initiatives, utilizing both German and European governmental support in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Lead a team of engineers and researchers specializing in diverse technological fields within the Power Electronics Technologies Department, providing strategic direction and mentorship.
  • Advocate for the successful execution of technology realization programs through established internal project management frameworks.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among Eaton facilities regionally and globally.
  • Engage with a team of specialists in various technology sectors within Eaton's Corporate Research Organization.

Additional Goals and Responsibilities:

  • Focus on crafting research proposals and securing governmental funding to propel advancements in Power Electronics pertinent to Eaton, while fostering relationships with the external technical community.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and strategies relevant to the European market, while managing relationships with Eaton stakeholders across engineering, product lines, and governmental programs.
  • Champion technology realization efforts and ensure robust business cases are established.
  • Report directly to the VP of Engineering & Technology EMEA and functionally to the Global Technology Manager.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the power and energy systems sector.
  • Extensive R&D background in power electronics, power systems, DC distribution, microgrids, protection systems, power conversion, renewable energy integration, motor controls, and vehicle and aircraft electrification.
  • Demonstrated success in managing EU and German government-funded projects aimed at advancing research and product development in power and energy systems, collaborating with both external partners and internal teams.
  • Experience in overseeing power electronics laboratories and experimental setups.
  • Strong program management skills with a focus on new product development and innovation processes.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Track record of developing new technologies with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment across various technological domains.
  • Business insight with a history of formulating compelling value propositions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills in both English and German (oral and written).
