Senior Technology Manager - Energy Systems (m/f/n)

Location: Flexible across Germany

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology initiatives supported by governmental funding, collaborating with both internal and external partners.
  • Work in close partnership with a dedicated team of scientists and engineers within the Energy Systems Technologies Department of Eaton's Corporate Research Organization, providing strategic direction and mentorship.
  • Promote the execution of technology realization programs by utilizing established internal project management processes.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among Eaton's regional and global locations.
  • Create a culture of innovation that encourages the development of valuable intellectual property.
  • Engage with a team of experts in various technology domains within the Energy Systems Technologies Department of Eaton's Corporate Research Organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Formulate research proposals and secure governmental funding to propel advancements in Energy Systems relevant to Eaton, while fostering relationships with the external technical community.
  • Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies pertinent to the European region, while building connections with Eaton stakeholders across engineering, product lines, and governmental programs.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development for technical staff.
  • This position will report to the VP of Engineering & Technology EMEA and functionally to the Global Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
  • Proven industrial experience in the power and energy systems sector.
  • Research and development experience in areas such as distributed energy resource (DER) integration, microgrid systems, power distribution modeling, analysis, monitoring, control, protection, and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing and executing EU and German government-funded projects aimed at advancing research and product development in the power and energy systems domain is highly valued.
  • Expertise in managing laboratory and experimental infrastructure, including power and control hardware in testing facilities.
  • Strong program management skills related to new product development and innovation processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both English and German (oral and written).
