Senior Manager of Technology - Energy Solutions (m/f/n)

Location: Flexible across Germany

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology projects utilizing government funding from Germany and Europe, collaborating with both internal and external partners.
  • Work in close partnership with a diverse team of scientists and engineers focused on various technological domains within Eaton's Energy Systems Technologies Department.
  • Promote technology realization initiatives through our established project execution methodologies.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration across Eaton's regional and global locations.
  • Create a culture of innovation while encouraging the generation of valuable intellectual property.
  • Engage with a team of experts in various technology fields as part of Eaton's Corporate Research Organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Formulate research proposals and secure government funding to propel advancements in Energy Systems relevant to Eaton, while nurturing relationships with the external technical community.
  • Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies pertinent to the European region, fostering relationships with Eaton stakeholders across engineering and product lines.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development for technical staff.
  • This role will report to the VP of Engineering & Technology EMEA and functionally to the Global Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution is essential.
  • Demonstrated industrial experience in the power and energy systems sector.
  • Research and development experience in areas such as distributed energy resource (DER) integration, microgrid systems, power distribution modeling, and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing EU and German government-funded projects aimed at advancing research and product development in the energy sector is highly valued.
  • Proficient in managing laboratory and experimental infrastructure, including power and control hardware testing facilities.
  • Strong program management skills in new product development and innovation processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both English and German (oral and written).
