Lead Technology Strategist – Power Electronics

Eaton Corporation is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of:

Senior Manager of Power Electronics Technology (m/f/n)

Location: Flexible across Germany

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the initiation and implementation of cutting-edge technology initiatives, utilizing both German and European governmental support in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Lead a dedicated team of researchers and engineers within the Power Electronics Technologies Department, providing strategic direction and mentorship.
  • Advocate for technology realization projects by employing our established project management methodologies.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among Eaton facilities both regionally and globally.
  • Engage closely with a team of specialists in various technology domains within Eaton's Corporate Research Organization.

Additional Goals and Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive research proposals aimed at securing government funding to propel advancements in Power Electronics pertinent to Eaton, while fostering relationships with the external technical community.
  • Formulate and refine technology roadmaps and strategies tailored to the European market, while managing interactions with Eaton stakeholders across engineering, product lines, and government programs.
  • Execute technology realization initiatives utilizing our internal project oversight processes, while providing leadership and support to the technical staff.
  • Report directly to the VP of Engineering & Technology EMEA and functionally to the Global Technology Manager.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the power and energy systems sector.
  • Extensive R&D background in power electronics, power systems, DC distribution, microgrids, protection systems, power conversion, renewable energy integration, motor controls, and vehicle and aircraft electrification.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing EU and German government-funded projects to enhance research and product development in the power and energy domain.
  • Experience in overseeing power electronics laboratory and experimental setups.
  • Strong program management skills, with a focus on new product development and innovation processes.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in technology development across multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Business acumen with a solid track record of crafting value propositions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills in both English and German (oral and written).
