Senior Technology Manager - Energy Systems (m/f/n)

Location: Flexible across Germany

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology projects utilizing governmental funding from Germany and Europe, collaborating with both internal and external partners.
  • Work in close partnership with a team of experts in various technological fields within the Energy Systems Technologies Department of Eaton's Corporate Research Organization, providing strategic direction and mentorship.
  • Promote the realization of technology initiatives through our established project execution methodologies.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among Eaton's regional and global locations.
  • Create an innovative environment that encourages the generation of valuable intellectual property.
  • Engage with a team of scientists and engineers specializing in diverse technology sectors within the Energy Systems Technologies Department.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Formulate research proposals and secure governmental funding to propel advancements in Energy Systems relevant to Eaton, while cultivating relationships with the external technical community.
  • Support the development of technology roadmaps and strategies pertinent to the European region, while fostering relationships with Eaton stakeholders including engineering and product lines.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities for technical staff.
  • This position will report to the VP of Engineering & Technology EMEA and functionally to the Global Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
  • PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
  • Experience in the power and energy systems sector.
  • Research and development experience in areas such as distributed energy resource (DER) integration, microgrid systems, power distribution modeling, and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with managing EU and German government-funded projects aimed at advancing research and product development in the power and energy systems domain is highly valued.
  • Experience in overseeing laboratory and experimental infrastructure, including hardware-in-the-loop testing facilities.
  • Proficient in program management related to new product development and innovation processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and German (oral and written).
