Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is intended for a longer duration, potentially extending up to 4 years.
As a new member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Department of Biological Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (BPCN), contributing significantly to our research and educational initiatives. Our department focuses on the intricacies of perception and memory, investigating both fundamental neuronal mechanisms of visual and auditory perception and specific perceptual processes, such as those related to human facial recognition. We regularly gather new data through TMS, EEG, fMRI, eye-tracking, and behavioral experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, coordinate, manage, and disseminate research projects in the realm of cognitive neurosciences. Publish research findings in reputable international journals. Develop an independent qualification project (habilitation or equivalent). Present contributions at international conferences. Plan and conduct courses independently, amounting to 4 course hours. Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. Assist the professorship with administrative duties, including teaching, examinations, and conference organization.Candidate Profile:
A university degree focused on psychology or cognitive neurosciences. An outstanding Ph.D. in psychology or cognitive neurosciences, with experience in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments using the aforementioned methods with human subjects. Proficiency in programming (Python; Matlab) and knowledge of machine learning techniques are advantageous. Excellent command of written and spoken English (knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory). A strong academic record, including publications. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is a plus. Strong organizational skills.We Offer:
