The Institute of Psychology within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences is seeking to appoint a
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
This position is available on a full-time basis (40 hours per week) and is intended for a longer duration (2 years with the possibility of extension up to 4 years).
As a valued member of our team, you will enhance our Department of Biological Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (BPCN) and contribute significantly to our research and educational initiatives. Our department focuses on the mechanisms of perception and memory, investigating both fundamental neuronal processes of visual and auditory perception and specific perceptual phenomena, such as facial recognition. We regularly gather new data through TMS, EEG, fMRI, eye-tracking, and behavioral experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, coordinate, manage, and disseminate research projects in the realm of cognitive neuroscience. Publish research findings in reputable international journals. Develop an independent qualification project (habilitation or equivalent). Present contributions at international conferences. Plan and execute courses independently, amounting to 4 course hours. Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s theses. Assist the professorship with administrative duties, including teaching, examinations, and conference organization.Candidate Profile:
A university degree with a specialization in psychology or cognitive neuroscience. An outstanding Ph.D. in psychology or cognitive neuroscience, with experience in planning, executing, and analyzing experiments using the aforementioned methods with human subjects. Proficiency in programming (Python; Matlab) and knowledge of machine learning techniques are advantageous. Excellent command of written and spoken English (knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory). A strong academic record, including publications. Experience in teaching undergraduate students is a plus. Strong organizational skills.We Offer:
