The Institute of Physical Chemistry is seeking to appoint a
Postdoctoral Researcher in Photonic Data Analytics
to commence at the earliest opportunity. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) initially limited in duration.
The "Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research" (LPI) in Jena serves as an open user facility where innovative photonic solutions for diagnostics, monitoring, and experimental therapies in infection research are developed in collaboration with industry partners. The LPI is a joint initiative involving the Leibniz Institute for Photonic Technologies Jena e.V. (Leibniz-IPHT), the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Knöll Institute (Leibniz-HKI), as well as the University Hospital Jena and Friedrich Schiller University Jena, under the auspices of the Leibniz Association. The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on methodologies for extracting biomedical insights from photonic data at LPI.
Your Responsibilities:
- Examine data preprocessing and standardization through inverse modeling for various photonic techniques.
- Develop and assess simulations of optical measurement methodologies.
- Explore machine learning approaches for data standardization and modality transfer.
Your Profile:
- A completed PhD in a relevant scientific discipline such as mathematics, computer science, physics, biology, or chemistry.
- Proficiency in data science, simulation, and/or data standardization.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab.
- Strong command of English and effective networking skills are essential.
- Familiarity with photonic data, including spectroscopic and optical imaging data, is advantageous.
